Thursday 29 April 2021 10:00-16:20

Are you a small business in Northern Ireland who wants to take part in tackling climate change, but don’t know where to go from here? Then register for the ‘Your business journey to Net Zero’ virtual event!

In conjunction with the Northern Ireland Office and the Federation of Small Businesses Northern Ireland, BEIS is hosting “Your business journey to Net Zero”.  The event will take place virtually on Thursday 29 April from 10:00-16:20 and is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses across Northern Ireland.

Your business journey to Net Zero will facilitate understanding of practical steps for SMEs who wish to embark on their own Net Zero journey; the event also seeks to help businesses consider the opportunities stemming from the transition to a low carbon economy. There will be multiple presentations and interaction with leaders on this subject.

BEIS is delighted to confirm that the Minister for Small Business, Consumers and Labour Markets, Paul Scully, and the Minister of State at the Northern Ireland Office, Robin Walker will open the event. The Government’s UK Net Zero Business Champion, Andrew Griffith MP, will be holding a panel session with businesses, and the Minister for the Economy at the Northern Ireland Executive, Diane Dodds MLA, will be also providing her closing comments in the afternoon.

In addition, there will be a virtual exhibition hall for delegates to find out about local and regional businesses and institutions, along with more products and services that will be of interest for those looking to lower their carbon emissions.

Please note that due to the variety and breadth of the day’s content, all sessions will be recorded so that delegates will be able to access presentations that they were unable to attend live on the day.
