Seating Matters, a world leader in therapeutic seating design and manufacturing, has announced a £3.7 million investment in its Limavady and Derry facilities as part of an ambitious plan to triple its turnover by 2027. This investment, to be rolled out over the next two years, will create 62 new jobs and reinforce the company’s position as a major employer in the region.

The expansion will establish a manufacturing centre of excellence, enhancing Seating Matters’ expertise in lean manufacturing and boosting its production capacity. Managing Director Martin Tierney said:

“This investment supports our ambitious growth strategy to triple turnover by 2027. With increased production capacity and over 60 new staff, we’re poised for rapid scaling while continuing to deliver products that transform the lives of dependent patients and their caregivers.

“Our focus on global markets, including Europe, North America, and Australia, combined with our understanding of clinical needs, gives us a strong competitive edge for further export growth.”

George McKinney, Invest NI’s Director of Technology, Services and Scaling, highlighted the significance of the expansion:

“Seating Matters’ ongoing growth reflects its commitment to innovation and excellence. This investment will enhance the company’s operational capabilities and support its ambitious export goals, contributing to Northern Ireland’s reputation as a hub for advanced engineering.”

Seating Matters has been a long-standing partner of Invest NI, with this latest initiative marking a significant step in its growth journey.
