Safe Management of Electrical Systems – Training School and Electrical Systems Audits

What we do?

Electrical Systems Training

Keen to address N Ireland’s skills shortage in the field of high voltage power supply, our Training School was founded in 2020 to deliver CPD accredited Management Awareness in Electrical Safety, High Voltage and Low Voltage operational training courses to companies across N Ireland and further afield.

The training school is N Ireland’s first facility for High and Low Voltage systems training. For the first time, engineers with the necessary aptitude and qualifications can undertake training to further their electrical engineering careers by maintaining their competence right here in Belfast.

Our hope is that we can provide and contribute to the growth of a new generation of managers, engineers and technicians who will be able to support traditional industries as well as new and evolving renewables industry.

Local training benefits both company and individual – Reduced travel time & expense required.Electrical Systems Audits

We carry out Electrical Systems Audits at client’s sites.

The objective of this type of audit is to identify the gaps within the policies, safety systems, safety rules and provide recommendations for improvement and/or corrective actions.

We audit the Client’s operational site to ensure compliance with The Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978, The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (the Management Regulations) & The Electricity at Work Regulations (EAWR) and the Site Electrical Safety Rules on a 3-yearly basis.

An Audit report is then sent to the Client representative for consultation and actioning.

Our policies and practices are approved and certified to comply with internationally recognized industry standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Client Testimonials

Laura Lynch, Coolkeeragh Power Station, Derry

Delighted to share I am the first female to attend the Horizon Engineering Electrical training school in Belfast!!

I have successfully completed both my Low Voltage Competent Persons and High Voltage Power Systems Operations courses.  I had a great experience at both, great facilities, met others in the industry, small class sizes & opportunities to ask questions.    Also, I didn’t need to travel to England, could return home each evening.

Highly recommend the training to other females in the industry.  I was delighted to hear I was the first to attend & hope more of you will follow.  Great opportunity for us ladies in our local NI market.

Jason Fisher, Director, Beattie Flanigan Consulting Engineers – High Voltage Power Systems Operations course

Can really recommend this course at Horizon Engineering Solutions Ltd having recently completed it – it’s a first class course delivered by people who know their stuff!!!

John Feeney, Maintenance Manager, Nelipak Healthcare Packaging

After having completed the Low Voltage Competent Persons Electrical course I would highly recommend this course from a manager’s perspective due to the course content, delivery and knowledge gained.
