The Pathways to Work and Wellbeing Programme, led by the Department for Communities, is partnering with Sir Charlie Mayfield and the UK Keep Britain Working Review, to identify a group of NI Vanguard Employers to test and shape a series of products that support more inclusive workplaces locally.

This initiative is part of a £16m Public Sector Transformation Programme that seeks to design a new Work and Health Model for NI (Programme Announcement | DfC).

NI EMPLOYER VANGUARDS – OCTOBER AWARENESS SESSIONS

Whilst Employers play a vital role in helping more people to access and progress in work, they have also called for more practical help and guidance when supporting staff with disabilities and health conditions.

In developing these supports, we are seeking a group of NI Employers to partner with us as Vanguards – to offer advice and direct experience of what works, and to support a 10-week sprint test commencing in early November 2026.

Department for Communities and Keep Britain Working are hosting awareness sessions during October, to provide more information on what being an NI Vanguard will involve, the value of participating, and an opportunity to ask questions and be part of the discussion.
