Prof David Mulligan is a Head of Department for Mechatronics at the Atlantic Technological University, Sligo where he has been a school member since 2010. He holds a Ph.D., Masters and Bachelors degrees from the National University of Ireland, Galway where he also worked as a research project manager and adjunct lecturer between 2000 and 2010.David’s research interests are in the area of intervention management information systems for support agencies assisting the SME sector. He has also been involved in several international research projects in the area of Industry 4.0, Business Process Reengineering for SMEs, Ambient Intelligence and Supply Chain Management. David has been involved in a number of projects supporting Manufacturing SMEs in the areas of design processes, material testing, decision making, process improvement and ICT development. His key subject areas of teaching include engineering materials, engineering design, operations management, pneumatic electropneumatic and hydraulic circuits and PLC programming.
