Manufacturers across Northern Ireland continue to face acute skills shortages, particularly in engineering and technical roles. Events that directly connect young people with industry are critical to building a sustainable talent pipeline.
The Get Engineering Careers Fair returns to South West College’s Dungannon Campus on Saturday 28 March (9.30am–12.30pm), bringing together over 30 employers from the advanced manufacturing and engineering sector.
This event provides a practical, on-the-ground opportunity for prospective students, school leavers and career changers to engage directly with companies that are actively recruiting. Attendees will be able to:
- Meet employers from across advanced manufacturing and engineering
- Explore current job opportunities and future career pathways
- Learn more about ‘Earn While You Learn’ Apprenticeships and Higher Level Apprenticeships
- Hear directly from current apprentices and students about their experiences
For employers, the event remains one of the most effective ways to engage with emerging talent locally, raise awareness of career opportunities within the sector, and influence future skills development.
With strong industry participation, Get Engineering has become a key fixture in the regional calendar, supporting both recruitment needs and longer-term workforce development.
Manufacturing NI encourages members, partners and local networks to help promote the event and ensure strong attendance from across the community.
