Avondale Foods, one of Northern Ireland’s longest-standing family-owned manufacturers, has launched a significant recruitment push and is expanding its technical team as part of a broader growth strategy. Based in Lurgan, the company now turns over more than £102 million and employs around 750 people, supplying fresh prepared foods to major UK and Irish retailers.

This wide-reaching drive, across production, quality, technical services, hygiene, planning and warehouse function, signals both confidence in future demand and a proactive response to skill shortages facing manufacturers right now.

Now entering their seventh decade, Avondale are focused on finding individuals with the right technical experience who are eager to make an impact on efficiency and product safety.

David McCann, Technical Controller at Avondale Foods, emphasised the opportunity for career development in these roles: “Joining our Technical Team offers people the chance to work with advanced technology and experience genuine career growth within a business that truly values its staff”.

Greer Geddis, Managing Director of Avondale Foods, said: “As a long-standing business in Northern Ireland, Avondale Foods is thrilled to be expanding our team with a number of technical roles. As we enter this exciting new phase of expansion – including our plans for a multi-million pound factory development – it is vital that we find the right people to grow with us. Many people perhaps don’t consider technical roles in food manufacturing at first, but these are highly skilled positions working with advanced technology where you can truly make your mark on the industry.”

Avondale are expanding investment in not just staff, but in innovation in products and processes, with plans submitted for a new multi million pound factory in Lurgan.
