Launched during Northern Ireland’s inaugural Day of Photonics, the Smart Nano NI Technology Access Programme from Digital Catapult offers fully funded mentoring, expert guidance, and access to cutting-edge photonics and future networks technologies, commencing in January 2025.
Applications are open now, closing 2nd December 2024. Programme will commence 6th January and run until 31st March 2025.

Designed to drive innovation across Northern Ireland, the programme will help 10 companies stay competitive by developing new products and services to solve complex challenges using the latest technologies

Choose between two tracks:

  • Photonics (e.g. vision systems, sensors)
  • Future Networks (e.g., 5G and NB-IoT)
Benefits include:
  • Fully funded access to cutting edge Photonics equipment and an Northern Ireland’s largest Future Network test bed (5G and Narrowband IoT).
  • Up to 10 hours of 1-2-1 consultation and mentoring with experts in Photonics and Future Networks Technology to help shape and prototype your new service or product.
  • Opportunity to avail of up to 5 hours of engagement and mentoring with the Smart Nano consortium companies, helping test and shape your plans.
  • Peer support from other participants on the programme, sharing learnings and insights gained from the programme as well as previous expertise regarding the challenges of technology adoption and commercialisation.
  • Receive a customised Technology Adoption Roadmap for next steps post-programme including sign posting to relevant grant interventions including the Digital Transformation Flexible Fund (DTFF).
  • Become part of the Smart Nano NI Alumni, with access to curated events and workshops beyond the programme.
