The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a new EU tax on highly traded, carbon‑intensive goods. It has already been introduced by the EU and will be implemented in the UK from January 2027.

To help Northern Ireland businesses prepare, Invest Northern Ireland is running a series of workshops providing clear, practical guidance on:

  • CBAM requirements and scope
  • Reporting and compliance obligations
  • Practical steps businesses need to take to prepare for phased implementation

Whether you import or export affected goods, these workshops will help you understand the impact of CBAM and how to get ready.

A series of in‑person workshops will be held across Northern Ireland.  Please see below for the list of planned workshops and register via the relevant registration link.
