Rooney Fish

Rooney Fish is a family-owned seafood producer based in Kilkeel, County Down on the Irish Sea coast, with roots in shellfish harvesting and processing stretching back to 1975. Now in its second generation, the business specialises in catching, farming, preparing and processing a diverse range of premium shellfish, including langoustines, crabs, lobsters, whelks, scallops and oysters, for domestic and international markets.

The company operates its own fleet of vessels and sources additional catch from the local fishing community to ensure optimum freshness. Its modern, EU-approved processing plant features advanced freezing, cooking, cold storage and grading facilities, supported by an in-house laboratory to uphold strict quality and hygiene standards.

In 2014, Rooney Fish expanded with an oyster farm in Carlingford Lough, producing award-winning oysters recognised for their exceptional taste.
