Kane Engineering

Founded in 1971 by Raymond Kane, Kane Engineering is a Newtownards-based specialist in the design and manufacture of low voltage switchgear, with over 50 years’ experience serving industrial and commercial customers across the UK and Ireland. From its early workshop origins, the company grew through a long-standing distributorship with Merlin Gerin (now Schneider Electric) and was among the first in its field to adopt CAD technology for panel design, winning the Northern Ireland Quality Award in 1992.

Kane Engineering’s product range includes low voltage switchboards, power factor correction equipment, HV and packaged substations, power distribution units, panel boards, LV distribution and accessories, and its EvoPillarâ„¢ EV charging feeder pillar system. The company supplies customers across sectors including commercial and retail, data centres and telecoms, industrial and utility, renewable energy, transport and aerospace, tourism and leisure, food and agriculture, and the public sector, working with major names such as Tayto, Rolls-Royce, Caterpillar, Randox and Aldi.

Operating from modern, well-equipped premises 20 minutes from Belfast, Kane Engineering continues to invest in its manufacturing capability, including 3D CAD design tools and CNC machinery for automated copper busbar fabrication. Backed by partnerships with leading switchgear manufacturers including Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens and Terasaki, the company remains focused on delivering safe, reliable and expertly engineered low voltage solutions.
