R. Thompson & Son (Armagh) Ltd, trading as Farmlay Eggs, is a long-established egg producer and packing business based in Armagh, Northern Ireland. Founded in 1913, the company remains family owned and is now led by the fourth generation of the Thompson family, combining over a century of experience with a strong personal approach built on long-term customer relationships.
Farmlay Eggs operates from a modern 56,000 sq ft production and packing facility in the heart of Northern Ireland and runs two distinct, highly successful business divisions. Under the well-established Farmlay Eggs brand, the company packs approximately five million eggs each week, with around 60% produced as free range, barn and organic. Around 45% of weekly output is supplied to wholesalers and supermarkets across Great Britain, sold under both the Farmlay Eggs brand and own-label ranges, with the remainder serving retailers, bakeries and customers throughout Ireland.
Alongside egg packing, Farmlay Eggs has developed a pasteurised egg division, supplying high-quality liquid egg products to bakeries and foodservice customers. With a focus on quality, trust and continuity, the business continues to grow steadily while staying true to its roots.
