The UK Government has updated and is consulting on increasing the products to be included in environmental taxation on single use plastics. This will include potentially significantly increasing fees on a variety of products. Businesses who produce or indeed supply into to other these materials have a reporting responsibility and potentially fees. Whilst for most the fee collection has been delayed from October 2024 until October 2025, firms are encouraged to look at the materials (including the new extended types of materials) and make adjustments now in order to avoid future economic harm.
