HMG Powder Coatings

Founded in 1988, HMG Powder Coatings Ltd is a family-owned business specialising in powder coatings across the British Isles, Europe, and beyond.

The company began manufacturing industrial coatings in its Belfast plant in 1981 as HMG Paints (Ireland) Ltd and quickly became the largest liquid paint manufacturer in Northern Ireland. Recognising the potential of powder coatings, HMG transitioned to this technology and established ‘Thermocoat Ltd’ in 1988. After divesting its liquid paint operations in 1991, it rebranded as HMG Powder Coatings Ltd to reflect its partnership with HMG Paints Ltd.

Focusing exclusively on powder coating products tailored to customer needs, HMG believes its coatings “should just work – no fuss.” In 1999, it expanded to the GB market with HMG Powder Coatings (Midlands) Ltd. Through a commitment to customer-focused innovation, HMG has become Ireland’s only powder coating manufacturer and the UK’s largest independent manufacturer, supplying coatings widely throughout Europe and beyond.
