Hewitt Meats

Hewitt Meats, founded by Jim Hewitt in 1974, began as a small butcher shop on the family farm. By 1985, the business relocated to its current location, acquired its EC licence, and expanded into processing and exporting prime beef. Over nearly five decades, the company has grown significantly, now processing over 400,000 kg of beef weekly and exporting to markets in the UK, Europe, Canada, and the Far East.

In 2016, the company enhanced its operations by acquiring Primestock Meats, an abattoir, to gain greater control over its supply chain. Through substantial investment and innovation over five years, this site has been transformed and is now capable of processing 1,000 cattle weekly.

Despite its growth and evolution, Hewitt Meats remains committed to its founding ethos, prioritising customer satisfaction and delivering high-quality products.
