Clearway Disposals

Clearway Group is Ireland’s largest scrap metal exporter, founded in the mid-1960s by John Murphy and grown over more than 50 years into a network of processing and export facilities across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The group’s Clearway division operates from Portadown (head office), Belfast, L’Derry and Sligo, while its Hammond Lane division, acquired in 1999 and trading under a name synonymous with Irish metal recycling for over a century, operates from Dublin, Athlone and Cork. Each facility processes all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal for export and domestic markets and is a fully licensed Approved Treatment Facility for end-of-life vehicles. Clearway also operates the PPC-licensed Aughrim landfill site, acquired in 2006, providing long-term non-hazardous waste disposal capacity for Northern Ireland.
