Fully Funded Women’s Leadership Course for Women Across the Foundation Industries

👩‍💻👩‍🔬👷‍♀️ We are looking to recruit 40 enthusiastic women from across the Foundation Industries, to receive a fully funded placement on a Women’s Leadership development programme.

We would, in particular, welcome applicants from varied age groups, ethnic minorities and diverse educational backgrounds.

📦🥛⚙️ As part of the government’s strategy and commitment to clean growth and net zero carbon by 2050, the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund has allocated £66 million of public funds to the #TransformingFoundationIndustries (TFI) Challenge. The Challenge brings together the #metals#glass#paper#ceramics#cement and #bulkchemical industries to address competitiveness and environmental impact.

📈 It is well known that there is an overall lack of diversity across Foundation Industry organisations. In particular, women are especially underrepresented at senior leadership levels, and most notably in technical and operational roles. A report, commissioned by TFI, and undertaken by the Enterprise Resource Centre https://bit.ly/3DmhC1k cited lack of diversity in board rooms as being a significant barrier to innovation. And one of the recommendations from the report, was for the Foundation Industries to increase diversity among senior roles.

👩‍🎓 As part of TFI’s commitment to the future prosperity of the Foundation Industries, we are fully funding 40 women to participate in a 12-month Women’s Leadership programme, with additional coaching, starting May 2022.

The learning objectives for this leadership development include:
✔️ Understanding and overcoming imposter syndrome
✔️ Building strong relationships that benefit everyone
✔️ Mastering your time, energy and focus
✔️ Knowing your influence and negotiating win-wins
✔️ Making superior decisions and solving complicated problems
✔️ Creating opportunities – for yourself and for other women across the Foundation Industries

⌚ As this is a funded programme, there is a requirement to fully commit to the course and, if successful, we will require line manager authorisation/commitment to support delegates in their learning, and in the implementation of that learning. The time commitment is up to a maximum of 4 hours a month for the sessions which will run for 12 months.

ℹ️🤝 Beyond this, we would be looking for delegates to act as an advocate for the future of the Foundation Industries, be a role model and mentor to others and help drive change across the sector and beyond.

📧 If this opportunity is of interest to you, please complete the self-nomination form for Women’s Leadership and return this to Zoe Price and Sarah Connolly at tfi.flg@iuk.ukri.org and we will be in touch.
