Exclusively for members of ManufacturingNI, the Labour Relations Agency is pleased to offer the Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice.
Places are limited to just 30 and the Certificate is delivered free of charge.
A 9-week programme, delivered entirely online, the certificate is suitable for anyone with line management responsibilities; it aims to equip line managers with the knowledge and skills to confidently deal with any staffing issues which may arise, from how to have difficult conversations through to conducting robust and thorough workplace investigations. As such the focus of the Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice is much more on skills development, rather than employment legislation or statutory rights and responsibilities.
The Labour Relations Agency has been running this programme since January 2018 and it has proved extremely popular and effective, with 90% of the most recent cohort of managers reporting that they have applied the skills acquired when they returned to the workplace.
The programme will be delivered entirely online – a mix of pre-recorded webinars (facilitated via GoToWebinar) and live Q&A sessions (facilitated via Zoom). Participants will be required to view the webinar in advance and then participate fully in the follow-up Q&A sessions which will explore the key themes, learning points and their application in more detail. While there is no formal method of assessment, the final week case study will assess the participants’ learning through a scenario which evolves throughout the session.
The total time requirements is approximately 2.5 hours per week.
If you would like to reserve place(s) on the programme, karen.leitch@lra.org.uk with a closing date of Friday 10th September 2021. Early bookings are advisable.
