Welcome To Our New Chief Executive, Stephen Kelly
Stephen arrives at MNI having been Head of Strategy and Special Projects for international marketing and communications firm, Velocity Worldwide where he was responsible for delivery across all accounts, partnerships and company development. Before joining in 2008, he was CEO of the Federation of the Retail Licensed Trade in Northern Ireland and former CEO of City Centre Initiative, the public ~ private regeneration partnership for the development of Derry City Centre. For 5 years, Stephen was a member of the BBC Broadcasting Council for NI and provided mediation services as an Authorised Officer for the Parades Commission. He was the 2003 National President of Junior Chamber International UK and is a past Vice Chairman of the Northern Ireland Association of Town Centre Managers. He has graduated from numerous local, national and international leadership programmes including Common Purpose, Boston College’s Irish Institute Programme, JCI Leadership Academy in Japan and the International Visitor and Leadership Programme on NGO’s sponsored by the US State Department.
Stephen said “I’m delighted to have joined MNI as CEO and look forward to working with the Board and members to ensure that manufacturing is a strong and competitive contributor to the Northern Ireland economy. Over the next few months I’ll be working closely with Bryan to get a deep understanding of the areas where MNI continue to make an impact for our members whether that be in rates, energy or other skills.” A resident of the NW, Stephen is married to Carol and is a father of 3 children and enjoys golf and most sports. Present MNI Chief Executive Bryan Gray will retire following the MNI Grand Charity Lunch on 6th December, after almost six years in post.
