Water: Have You Been Charged Too Much?
Water charges are an increasing burden on business with costs rising and a lack of understanding about the reason and levels of charging.
The Consumer Council for Northern Ireland has a role in working with and for not only domestic but also business consumers. As part of their recent work on water, they've secured a repayment for Altnagelvin Hospital of some £286,616.
This is obviously a headline grabbing figure for a major site, but we understand that the Consumer Council has also secured for small business, farmers and others and would encourage members to engage with them to see if you are entitled to a repayment and/or a revised bill.
We have attached a guide to Water Charges and would encourage all members to speak with the Consumer Council if you have any concerns about your water charges. This is a free service.
