Sign The Fair Fuel Petition Today!
Having to pay the highest fuel duty rate in Europe not only hurts us as motorists at the pump, but it also adds considerably to the costs of manufacturers in Northern Ireland and tightens the noose around the necks of our haulage industry.
Even before VAT, the tax that government levies accounts for around 50 per cent on the price of a litre of fuel. Even if you don’t own a car, you could still end up paying this unfair tax indirectly as the price of goods in our shops inevitably rises in the face of growing transport costs.
The Freight Transport Association, together with the RHA, RAC and other supporters of FairFuelUK are determined to see the issue debated in the House of Commons. But in order to achieve that, the Government e-petition at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/347 needs 100,000 names. We’re getting there; about 64,000 people have signed up so far, but we still need more before we can hit the target.
Signing the petition takes a minute and your name could make all the difference in our fight for a fairer deal on fuel.
For those of you who subscribe to Facebook, your help could spread our message even further. If you are one of those people switched on to social media, please cut and paste the following into your status. If all of your friends read it and in turn pass it on, the petition WILL get the 100,000 names it needs and we will ALL make a difference.
We are all paying far too much for our fuel. Please sign this petition and pass this message on to all your friends. It only takes a minute and may actually make a difference to the price we pay for fuel. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/347
