Have your say on our Manufacturing Manifesto
MNI have developed a draft Manufacturing Manifesto. This calls on our Government to create the conditions which will allow our manufacturing companies to survive and thrive in increasingly competitive markets at home and abroad.
Our ambition is to create the most competitive region in Europe in which tostart, sustain and grow a manufacturing business, thus creating wealth and work – growing manufacturing from being 12.5% of our GDP to the European target of 20%. This will transform our economy and every constituency in Northern Ireland.
Our engagement with the Northern Ireland Executive has been generally positive. However, there is plenty to do, specifically in affordable energy, skills, employment policy and critically, securing the cap on Industrial Rates beyond 2015.
So, we are inviting you to be part of developing our plan. We are taking our draft manifesto near you and invited MLAs and MPs to meet with you directly to hear directly the challenges you and your business faces to secure business, sustain jobs and compete locally and globally.
These are important events and we hope you can make one of the following venues over the next couple of weeks:
12 August, SDC Trailers, Toome
13 August, Irwins Bakery, Portadown
21 August, Fleming Agri, Newbuildings
22 August, Hill Engineering, Newry
25 August, Bombardier Aerospace, Belfast
5 September, Fisher Engineering, Ballinamallard
Each event last about 1 hour and starts at 12.30pm.
If you would like to attend, then please confirm by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Other events will be added in the coming weeks, but we hope you can take an hour to engage with our politicians and help us develop the plan.
