MNI Grand Charity Lunch A Great Success
Manufacturing NI’s Grand Charity Lunch held in the Glenavon Hotel Cookstown on 7th December proved to be a huge success. Almost 300 representatives of local companies enjoyed a great day out addressed by the Chairman of the Enterprise Trade & Investment Committee, Patsy McGlone MLA, who emphasised the importance of manufacturing companies in Mid-Ulster to delegates. Members were also entertained by local comedian Gene Fitzpatrick.
More than £12,250 was raised for local charities, the NI Cancer Fund for Children and the NI Childrens Hospice, while those present at the lunch donated more than 350 toys to the St Vincent de Paul/Salvation Army Family Appeal. The star draw prize of a luxury break in the exclusive Chateau de la Ligne, kindly donated by Terry Cross of Delta Print and Packaging, together with a pair of FlyBe return tickets donated by Selective Travel, was won by Cathy McKeefry of BP McKeefry/Crossland Tankers in Swatragh. This was the first time the association had organised a Christmas Charity Lunch and they hope to repeat the event in 2013 with even more members present.
