Made in NI 2020 Shortlist Announced
The first group of manufacturing companies which have been shortlisted for this year's Made in Northern Ireland Awards have been announced. Manufacturing NI Deputy CEO Mary Meehan was delighted to take part in the shortlisting process.
Now in their seventh year, the awards recognise and reward the excellence of the manufacturing sector in Northern Ireland and showcase the successful achievements of innovative and forward-thinking businesses across the region.
Today we reveal the shortlisted companies for Digital Engineering/Technology, Export, Apprenticeships/Training, Food & Drink and Medical & Life Sciences Awards.
All the shortlisted businesses will be showcased at a dinner event taking place at The Titanic Hotel, Belfast on 14th October 2020 at which the winners of each award category will be announced.
The sponsors of the 2020 awards are Cleaver Fulton Rankin, Deloitte, HSBC UK and MCS Group.
All of the winners of the Made in Northern Ireland Awards 2020 will be automatically entered into Insider's national final, the Made in the UK Awards, which will be taking place in Liverpool on 18th November 2020.
An independent panel of judges was brought together by Philip Cunliffe, Insider's regional business editor, to run the rule over all the entry submissions in the nine award categories and to determine the shortlists and the winners.
He commented: "We were delighted with the number and the quality of submissions for this year’s Made in Northern Ireland Awards. It’s always great to hear about the amazing manufacturing and engineering businesses in the region which really punch above their weight in domestic and international markets.
“The judging panel had a very tough time in separating these superb businesses and were forced to make some difficult decisions but I think all the shortlisted businesses can feel justly proud of their achievements and for being part of this hugely important sector of the economy.”
The first set of shortlists for the Made in Northern Ireland Awards 2020 are:
Digital Engineering/Technology Award
Advanced Sensors Ltd
Manufacturing Apprenticeship/Training Scheme Award
Food & Drink Award
Clandeboye Yoghurts Co.
