Invitation- Family Business- Right Up Your Street
A road trip to visit three family businesses on Main St, Moira, Co. Down
Wednesday 7th November
In the heart of the Georgian village of Moira are several family businesses, all on one street.
The NI Family Business Forum are going to visit some of these businesses on our first ever road trip, giving our guests the opportunity to meet the owners and hear their stories first hand and network
And the stories will begin before we even get to Moira, courtesy of Caroline McComb of McComb’s Travel who will be sharing her family business story as we travel to Moira in style on one of McComb’s luxury coaches.
On arriving in Moira, our first stop will be at Beaufort Interiors, award winning interior design specialists, founded by Ruth Wilson in 1982. Ruth and her son Trevor will welcome us to their showroom where we will hear their story and enjoy some afternoon refreshments. Ruth’s husband Robert is another family business owner in the village. Robert runs the Robert Wilson Estate Agency and Moira was the first of his three offices when he started the business over 20 years ago.
Our next stop will see us cross the road to The Stillhouse, a gastropub and distillery run by Stuart and Barbara Hughes who also own the RubyBlue Vodka brand and produce it on the premises.
Guests will enjoy a taste and tour at the Stillhouse “Spirit School” and be shown how the award winning Ruby Blue range is made, and enjoy a few samples!
When “Spirit School” finishes, we’ll finish with dinner in the Stillhouse, showcasing local produce with food which is gaining a great reputation despite only opening in October last year.
