Heating and heat recovery, energy efficiency and reducing overheads
BSH have obtained energy efficiency funding from Power NI to support heat pump systems on heat recovery and replacement heating systems. The grant funding is based upon how much energy is saved, the greater the energy saved / recovered, the great the grant aid.
Heat pumps can recover low grade heat from many sources, waste water, ventilation heat stacks / exhausts, sewage water. This source of energy is regenerated into usable heat anything up to 85c. The lower the grade of heat you require the more efficient the heat pump can be.
Typically we see customers having energy costs for gas .033ppkwh, oil .055ppkwh, but with a heat pump that could be .03ppkwh a saving of 45% over oil which is for the most part the largest company fuel source in NI. Where the heat pump really scores is greenhouse gas reduction. It can beat Natural Gas which of all the fossil fuels is the NI’s cleanest in a heating load of 560kw for 2500hrs it beats NG saving 180 tonnes. Economically it makes sense and environmentally it’s a no brainer.
