Carbon Champion Course: Carbon Footprinting and Management
Location- Inspire Business Park, Newtonards
Hosted by Green Connect NI, the course will cover calculating and reporting the organisation’s carbon footprint and will show an on-going commitment to reducing the company’s impact and continual improvement of environmental performance. It will enable the organisation to establish a base line and set improvement goals. It will help to support ISO 14001.
The training might be of interested to anyone involved in the carbon reporting process. It is recommended that one person is assigned responsibility for coordinating this process and producing the final figures for publication. It might also be an idea to have a designated person in each part of the business who can collate and report data to the carbon lead. In addition, there may be other team members involved in gathering the data. It is helpful if these are the people that have access to the data (e.g. utility bills and expenses records) and typically involve members of the finance team. All of these players may benefit from understanding why and how the carbon reporting is done.
